Batangas City Cooperatives Celebrated Women’s Month

In commemoration of Women's Month, cooperatives in Batangas City came together, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Xentro Mall, Alangilan, Batangas City to celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in society. Spearheaded by the Cooperative Union of Batangas (CUB) and sponsored by Xentro Mall, alongside esteemed primary cooperatives such as Tulo MPC, Batangas Medical Center Employees MPC, OCVAS, Coops for Christ, BPSTECC and Malalim MPC, the event was a testament to the collaborative spirit of the community.

Graced by the support of key institutions including the Batangas Medical Center OB Department and Home Extension Division under the Office of the City Agriculturist-Batangas City, the celebration drew the participation of 100 cooperative members from 11 cooperatives within the city and 52 other women from the community. Inspired by the theme: Lipunang Patas Sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!”, this collective effort underscored the importance of solidarity in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment.

The event offered an array of free services tailored to benefit women from all walks of life. From essential health screenings like free pap smear and consultations with obstetricians and gynecologists, to pampering sessions including massages, nail care, and haircuts, every aspect was meticulously designed to prioritize the well-being of women. Moreover, the event didn't solely focus on physical health but also addressed crucial aspects of mental well-being. Engaging talks on women's health and mental health were conducted, providing attendees with valuable insights and resources to nurture both their bodies and minds.

Beyond the tangible services, the event served as a platform for women to come together, share experiences, and strengthen bonds within the community. Listening and counseling sessions offered a safe space for women to express themselves, seek guidance, and foster a sense of solidarity and support.

In essence, the Women's Month celebration at Xentro Mall Alangilan was more than just an event; it was a reaffirmation of the collective commitment to uplifting and empowering women. As we reflect on the achievements and challenges faced by women, let us continue to stand together, advocate for equality, and strive towards a future where every woman can thrive.
